Igalamela/Odolu : Community Leaders Held Emergency Meeting Over Dastardly Attack at Oforachi

The Chief Administrator of Igalamela,/ Odolu Local Government, Hon.Patrick Danjuma onogwu held a Security and Peace PAC meeting on Monday at the Local Government conference hall.

 The security meeting was attended by all the security agencies in the area and the traditional rulers to tackle the issue of the lingering crisis in Oforachi and the neighbouring communities. 

Here is the list of Heads of communities that  came out with a -peace -restored -result,

1.Hon.patrick onogwu.. The chief administrator and the chief security officer of the local government

2.The Area commander, Idah Area Command.

3. The Etemahi igalamela and the Chairman igalamela odolu local government traditional council.(taaaaakida).

4. The DPO, Ajaka Division.

5. The D.O. Civil defence Ajaka Division,

6. The commander Naval Based and out post Idah .

7. The commander NDLEA Idah Command,

8.All the Fulani Head from the three neighbouring local government areas.

9. The Secretary to The Local Government (SLG) Igalamela Odolu/Local Government Area

10.The DSO Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area.

11, All Local Chief, Gagos and all village Head.

12 .The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) Chairman was not left out, the protocol was seen moderating the meeting to mention but few. However, after granting fair hearing to the parties both sides. It became crystal clear that the igala man Mr. Godwin Egbunu was first killed by a passerby Fulanis, and not those residing in Oforachi Community. 

According to the report from the Fulani Heads, the corpse of the two dead Fulanis found was also suspected to be a passerby Fulanis as well . Mean while the Area Commander of Idah Police Command has called on all runaway residents of Oforachi Community to return home and resume their normal businesses.

 He assured the people that the police will commence investigation in order to get to the root of the crisis to avoid future reoccurrences.

The NAVAL Commander, Idah Naval post also advised the youth in the area to remained  calm, stressing that their grievances will be addressed, any form of retaliatory attack or revolt will never yield a good result. Peace will fully be restored to the community. 

He also prayed to God to give the family of those who lost their lives the fortitude to bear the irreparable lost.

 The Etemahi igalamela,HRH. Chief Abel Etuh (JP) appreciated  the administrator of Igalamela/ Odolu LG for his stead fastness and spirit of sportmanship to draw the attention of stakeholders for an emergency, positive result oriented meeting. He also thanked the Area Commander, for his wisdom,The Royal father prayed to God for peace to be  restored to the affected community as a way of taken back what the adversary have stolen.

Hon. Patrick Danjuma onogwu also  in his closing remark appreciated everyone present in the meeting. He begged the residents of Oforachi residence both the Igalas and the Fulanis to  calm down as the Law Enforcement Agency will make sure peace and the security of lives and property will be fully restored to Oforachi community.

Hon.Onogu also appreciated efforts of SLG Hon.Alhaji Inuwa Rilwanu , the DSO Igalamela/ Odolu, Hon.Emmanuel Idachaba , the NULGE chairman Comrade Tahirudeen Abdullahi, the protocol officer to the administrator, Hon. omajali, all for their unalloyed support in making during the meeting a huge success.

He called for absolute peace and tranquillity everywhere in Igalamela as he is known for. He beckoned on everybody to be his or her brothers keeper.

Breaking: Kogi Guber, disqualification Saga: Natasha’s Defeat INEC at Appeal Court

Kogi State Gubernatorial candidates under Social Democratic Party (SDP), Natasha ’s H. Akpoti defeat Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the appeal court. Recall that Natasha’s was disqualified by INEC to contest for Kogi gubernatorial election that was held on the 16th of November 2019, over what INEC described as age disqualification. According to INEC, the vice gubernatorial candidate to Natasha’s did not meet the age requirements by the constitution. Gunmen attack Kogi community, kill 19, burn houses

By   Emmanuel Francis Gunmen have killed no fewer than 19 people in Tawari community in the Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State, burning buildings, including the palace of the king of the community. The Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. Williams Anya, confirmed the development in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja on Friday. He said that a police assessment team had visited the community and that many buildings, including places of worship, had been burnt. Tawari community is a few kilometres off Gegu town along the Lokoja-Abuja highway. A resident of Tawari community, Mrs. Comfort Solomon, who survived the attack, told NAN that the gunmen, numbering about 100 invaded the community late on Thursday. The Supreme Court of Nigeria in a five man panel headed by Justice Olubolade Joe in a unanimous judgement finally put to rest as it Barred state governors from having the power to sack elected local government chairmen and councilors henchforth. Other areas of the ruling that took place on 11th Dec 2019 includes: 1. No state Governor will henchforth have the powers to sack dully elected local government chairmen and the appointment of caretaker chairmen is also barred . 2. The man, Ocholli Edicha,  suspected to be the gang leader of those who led some political thugs to burn Mrs Salome Achejuigu, the PDP women leader to death has confessed that they carried out the dastardly act because he had been nursing a grudge against the woman before the Nov 16th governorship election.
