Riposte: Anyegwu Is Not Corrupt Like Some Of You

Image
Every human being born of a woman is entitled to his or her opinion. This is not an attempt to say, you and I have the right to express an uninformed opinion. Lobbying is not bribery. It is allowed in an ideal, participatory democracy. Governments will be more likely to address a lobbyist’s interests knowing there is a large swell of support backing this interest. The report that the Provost, College of Health Sciences and Technology Idah, Dr. Nuhu Solomon Anyegwu is lobbying for tenure extension after 7 and half years of meritorious service is appalling. It is a fallacious, malicious, baseless, and ill-gotten report going around social media widely sponsored by one pseudo-name, faceless and so-called Concerned Members of Staff of the College of Health Sciences, Idah that the current Provost is inducing some government functionaries for tenure elongation. Anyegwu is too educated to know organisations such as interest groups, representative bodies, industry, NGOs, charities ...

TB Joshua Legacy: Pastor Evelyn Keeps the Flag Flying

Image
Human legacies are like trinkets: the number of times we remove the dust from these trinkets and polish them until they are sparkling indicates how much we care about them. For Evelyn Joshua, the wife of the late pastor and founder of Synagogue, Church of All Nations (SCOAN), Temitope Balogun (TB) Joshua, there is no bigger legacy than what her husband left behind. As a result, she continues to spend her time and everything in her power to ensure that TB Joshua’s greatest gift to the people of his generation remains bright and flourishing. It has been a while since SCOAN entered the news. However, this is only because Lady Evelyn has been very busy restoring and maintaining the robustness of her husband’s ministry. As all of her attention is on this pursuit, it is not surprising that she is beginning to make moves that remind onlookers of her husband’s charismatic presence and style.  A good pointer is her latest move. Lady Evelyn recently established a new branch in Ak...

Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, Wednesday described himself as a miracle governor, following the affirmation of the earlier judgement by the Supreme Court. “Once again, I describe myself as a miracle governor. It is not a winner takes all. “My message is that of reconciliation as I will run an all-inclusive government. Let everyone that is aggrieved sheathe their swords.
