Igalamela/Odolu: Why Good Men Do Not Live Long ? Mere Advice Turned Bloody for Imam Ahmed Alfa aka The Senator at Okpachala

Ahmed Alfa ,36 popularly known as Senator across Idah and Igalamela was allegedly murdered on Sunday by midnight. Before his untimely death , the deceased was the Imam of the family and neighborhood mosque at Okpachala in Igalamela/Odolu LG in Kogi State.

As an Islamic Scholar and respected leader,  Imam Alfa used to caution the youth against cultism, particularly his coursin whom he valued so much. 
However, a reliable source told Koginfo reporter that Imam Alfa always called on his cousin to shun unholy association. The last advice did not go down well with the cousin who appeared from nowhere with questionable look. 

The Cousin gave stern warning to late Imam Alfa that  this should be the last time he talked to him concerning issues about him and never advice or caution him again.

Late Imam Alfa offered a Godly advice without knowing it will mark his last speech on earth.  It never occured to him that his beleaguered cousin  had a more sinister plan than the mere stern warning. As a result of this , at the early hour on Sunday morning by midnight, the victim's house was invaded by a gang of suspected criminal Cult. They broke through his entrance door into his wife's room thinking he slept there.

On Noticing  the invasion of his residence, the deceased ran out of his own room scampering for safety.  But received a gunshot at the extremely right side of his back with the bullet pierced through the front. This marked the end of Imam Alfa who kept on mentioning a name laying on  the ground 

“What have I done  to deserve being killed...?” Imam Alfa asked in a pool of blood. He kept on calling his cousin brother's name while groaning in pain. Yet, good the suspected cultist  ran after him, picked him up and dragged him into a nearby bush, some 50 meters off his house and struck him to death.

According to a senior member of the family, “before members of the community could muster courage to come out for rescue, the blood thirsty culprits were nowhere to be found  leaving their lifeless victim in his pool of blood."

Amidst shock, fear, anguish and cry caused by this dastardly or demonic act, Mallam Ahmed Alfa a.k.a Senator was buried on Sunday afternoon at Okpachala according to Moslimm rite.  No doubt,  sympathizers across Idah and Igalamela where he was popularly known for his altruism, honesty in his dealings and devotion to his religion as well as loyalty and commitment to his political stands thronged his residence to condole the deceased family.

Late Imam Alfa  is survived by a wife, children and unborn child.
May his gentle and noble soul rest in the bosom of Allah. Amin.

Questions  trailing the air from discerning minds is for how long shall we continue to watch this happening?

Should we all stop advising our younger ones to desist from vices particularly cultism?

Where have we gone wrong as a people?
Why are our elders and opinion moulders across Igalaland so silent on salient issue as this?

How long will this wickedness and demonic ignorance of our youth stop in this land?

 Or, is just talking and no real action enough?

Breaking: Kogi Guber, disqualification Saga: Natasha’s Defeat INEC at Appeal Court

Kogi State Gubernatorial candidates under Social Democratic Party (SDP), Natasha ’s H. Akpoti defeat Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) at the appeal court. Recall that Natasha’s was disqualified by INEC to contest for Kogi gubernatorial election that was held on the 16th of November 2019, over what INEC described as age disqualification. According to INEC, the vice gubernatorial candidate to Natasha’s did not meet the age requirements by the constitution. Gunmen attack Kogi community, kill 19, burn houses

By   Emmanuel Francis Gunmen have killed no fewer than 19 people in Tawari community in the Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State, burning buildings, including the palace of the king of the community. The Public Relations Officer of the Kogi State Police Command, Mr. Williams Anya, confirmed the development in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lokoja on Friday. He said that a police assessment team had visited the community and that many buildings, including places of worship, had been burnt. Tawari community is a few kilometres off Gegu town along the Lokoja-Abuja highway. The Supreme Court of Nigeria in a five man panel headed by Justice Olubolade Joe in a unanimous judgement finally put to rest as it Barred state governors from having the power to sack elected local government chairmen and councilors henchforth. The man, Ocholli Edicha,  suspected to be the gang leader of those who led some political thugs to burn Mrs Salome Achejuigu, the PDP women leader to death has confessed that they carried out the dastardly act because he had been nursing a grudge against the woman before the Nov 16th governorship election.
