AN OPEN LETTER TO HIS EXCELLENCY ALHAJI YAHAYA ADOZA BELLO!
Let me start my congratulating you on your successful inauguration as the fifth executive Governor of our dear beloved confluence state.
This is no mere feat at all considering the politics that played out from the struggle for the party's tickets through the screening, your emergency as your party's flagbearer and all the rough roads that led to one of the most infamous election in the history of Kogi State if not Nigeria at large and your declaration as the winner eventually.
I consider this letter very important if not most timely considering that fact that fingers are crossed to see how you're going to pilot the affairs of the state once again after the earlier disastrous outing in your first term.
I was able to itemized in my earlier write up titled "JUST BEFORE THE INAUGURATION OVERTURE" some of the reasons for your abysmal performance in your first tenure which includes but not limited to Political inexperience cum juvenile team players, mismanagement of funds meant for development for fighting unnecessary perceived Political enemies, poor implementation of the new direction template, the prolonged staff screening exercise that wasn't handled properly, the prevalence of unrepentant sychophants and bootlickers arround you. Others includes the delays in payment of salaries, pensions, gratuities and other benefits. In fact, to sum it up, the poverty of workers welfare top your administration iconic failure due to bad advices and intolerant to opposition parties and critics.
Now that by divine providence or chance you've been sworn in as the fifth executive Governor, You've the opportunity to right the wrongs of your first outing by first accepting the fact that you and your government in your first tenure failed Kogites unapologetically and then draw a new plan of actions to correct these wrongs. Though it is not going to be easy wondering the level of damages done but not impossible with determination, focused and above all with God.
I want say here without fear or favour and without any sense of contradictions that you failed earlier because of the enemies within....the desperate, greedy and untamed mongers whose interest were themselves.
I'm particularly happy that your inauguration took off with the imediate nomination of your executive think tanks which shows determination to work and payments of workers salaries. Although I don't know if the payment cuts across the state and local governments and in which percentages they were paid. Even though this may not necessarily be an achievement but it's a good start.
I wish to most sincerely advice you Sir at this point if you must succeed. I deliberately use the word "IF" because I'm aware of some litigations against the government from the fallout of the last election and other related matters.
If you must succeed and put smiles on Kogites face, first beware of your friends in power...choose who to work with carefully because everything rise and falls on Leadership. Beware of the foxes in the vineyard....the sychophants, bootlickers and praise-singers. These are the enemies within.
Secondly, be focused on people's oriented projects that has direct impacts on the people. In this case, workers welfare should top your agenda that emphasizes the general well-being and development of the people. Knowing that the growth and development of the people is the highest calling of a leader.
Thirdly, form a formidable team you can rely on to succeed not the type that ruin your first tenure. Those who practically turn a serious government business to be a child's play thereby bringing the government into a ridiculously disruputable entity because of inexperiences. As it's said, you can't give what you don't have.
Having the right players and team determines 60 to 80 percent of the success of any administration. Therefore, hire the best hands and brains. If possible look beyond party patronage and get, reputable technocrats, academic and sound religious leaders. But don't hire who you can't fire.
Above all, recall areas of lapses in the first term and carefully correct them with due diligence.
Finally, be prudent and be a good manager of resources. It's our money and we want it used judiciously for the overall good of Kogites.
We will however not relent in holding your leadership accountable when found wanting as we crave for good governance and responsible.
So help you God....
Once again congratulations Sir?
LONG LIVE KOGI STATE....
