OPINION : HILARY AMODU, ADMINISTRATOR IDAH LG SACKED FOR FAILING TO DELIVER IDAH LG FOR APC ?

Hilary Amodu in his capacity as number one person in Idah LG is one in a million. He is a walkaholic. He is neat exaclty the way he kept Idah LG clean with optimum sanity. He is not rude and does not believes in hooliganism to advance a course. The pains of the people is his pains with open door policy. Hilary believes in the practical policy of putting first thing. He hates seeing the youth jobless. This accounts for why Hilary initiated Igala Who is whom to diplomatically attract sons and daughters in the land to be their brothers keeper particularly in the area of Job.
Hilary AMODU has a plethora of achievements that is unmatchable among his contemporaries professionally or otherwise.
In fact, the shortest time spent as Administrator Idah LG shows the proactive, pragmatic, progressive and undiluted blood of Late Steven Makoji Achema run through his neurons. However ,the he news of the sack of Hilary Amodu as the Chairman or Administrator of Idah LGA did not come as a surprise to those of us who are familiar with the doings of Edward Onoja and Yahaya Bello, the Governor and Deputy Governor of Kogi State.
The moment results from Idah at the governorship election of 16th November, 2019 was announced, I knew Hilary was in trouble. My fears for Hilary was further confirmed when they requested for results from polling units of their appointees.
Talking about Hilary, I wonder why he joined this government in the first place. Almost everybody in Bello's government, including Bello himself were not known before 2015. I mean, they were all a popular nobody. Unfortunately, Hilary who is well known, with strong goodwill decided to exchange his hard earned popularity born of goodwill for a pot of porridge by joining them, at the threshold of breaking history. You cannot join Bello and retain your goodwill, not at all.
Hilary was a pacesetter, trail blazer and pathfinder and frontier Igala man. The initiative of Hilary "Who is Whom in Igala Land" was a swelling publication with major improvement after every edition, not to talk of the awards he organised successfully. His Igala Cultural Festival was improving like wildfire with people travelling from all over the country to attend. All these, Hilary propagated and nurtured as a private hustler. His marks were obvious.
Jump to 2019, Hilary was brought to replace one Sule as chairman of Idah LGA. I do not want to talk anything about Sule, but Hilary should have known that coming to replace the Sule was an indictment on his fast growing popularity and goodwill.
As if that was not enough, Hilary came out in the open to campaign for this anti-people and anti-igala government. An exponent of Igala Nation stood with a government that is purely anti-igala! That was a risk not worth it. For people who couldn't do anything except politics, I can understand, but certainly not a brain like Hilary.
All Caretaker Chairman were all mandated to deliver their respective LGAs for Bello. But because Hilary is not one of these thugs, he had difficulty in using violence to achieve his pay master target.No doubt, this ultimately made it impossible for him to rig successfully, though he tried rigging. In consequence of his failure to successfully rig Idah LGA for Bello, he was sacked yesterday.
Now that Hilary is sacked, will he return to his "Who is Who in Igala Land" publications and award or will he return to his Igala Cultural Festival? Who among Igala sons and daughters will hold him dear as it was in the past again?
I can say without fear of contradiction that Hilary goofed. This is by openly supporting an aspirant , then who was, and is against his people. He has wasted and abused his goodwill and pride of place he occupied in the heart our people. He went to interact with people who are not his equals by all standard. I hope he finds his feet on the path he once was. I just hope so.
